The Biggest Mistake

One of the biggest mistake that all cooks (not just beginning cooks) make is not reading the recipe. This is one of the most important things that you can do. Have an idea of exactly what the recipe is telling you to do. If you have a question about a term that the recipe uses, before you start is a good time to find out what it means.

The next step is called 'mise en place'. This French term means everything in place. On all the cooking shows you will see all the ingredients ready to go in small individual dishes. You don't have to get that fancy, but make sure that you do have all the ingredients.

You will be surprised how much easier your cooking will be. :: Defining Your Blogs Worth: TopSites:

Went to high school with a Doug Flesch. Myself and Mark Trousdale have been trying to find him. Are you any relation? Do know how we could contact him?

Carolyn, congratulations on the web site. My husband David does most of the cooking but the time that he and the kids and I spend in the kitchen is always a treasure to me. My Mom was always an excellent cook and still is but I never developed the passion until David came along. It is truly one of my favorite joys when we cook together and the kids of course jump in but there is still one cooking mystery that is unsolved...Where does everyone disappear to when there are dishes to be done? Thank goodness for the dishwasher. Congrats again on a wonderful site that makes life a little easier. Patty

This is an awesome site! Since you're really into great food and great recipes, I think you'd also be interested in FohBoh, ( the online networking site for the International Restauarnt Industry. It's got great information and interaction with restaurant professionals, executive chefs, videos of culinary techniques and recipe preparation, a vibrant wine community with internationally renowned somelliers and people like you and me just interested in food and drink. The site is worth checking out, and I think you'd find a great deal of value there for both yourself and your blog.

Have an awesome day! Cheers!
